Stage 1: The Drowning

For a long time, I refused to remember my start. It wasn't confidence; it was drowning. I grasped at anything—news, tips, analyses—if stated with certainty. I'm Vera, with two master's degrees and seven years in banking. This background bred overconfidence, not edge. I entered trading not from passion but rebellion against passive saving. Yet I became a typical retail trader: emotional, ruled by hope and fear. The slow bleed of small, unexplained losses eroded me more than any crash. My knowledge became a trap, making each failure a deeper personal indictment.

Stage 2: The Gambler's Clarity

The breaking point was a "perfect" trade. Sound logic, strong consensus. I went all-in, backed by my analysis and experience. It failed utterly. I exited in panic at the bottom. That moment crystallized the truth: I wasn't trading; I was gambling. My intellect and experience were just tools for my overconfidence and inner demons. I asked the pivotal question: If I change nothing, will I lose everything? I admitted my fatal flaw: I could not reliably interpret noise. To continue was to surrender my fate to luck.

Stage 3: The Rule's Crucible

My radical solution: strip

everything away. I silenced all news and opinions. I would follow only price. I

set three iron rules:

1.Enter only on a confirmed breakout.

2.Define and accept the maximum loss before entering.

3.Exit immediately if price returns below my line.

The first proper trade was a perfect setup. It hit my stop-loss, then soared without me. The pain was profound: being right in method guarantees nothing. I was stopped out repeatedly. Yet I refined the system: cut losses quickly, hold only what rises. Through small, frequent failures, I learned the key: a true trend does not look back.

Stage 4: The Trend's Keeper

The system began to work. I kept surviving trades, cut losing ones fast. Luck helped, but rules were essential. I endured steep drawdowns and dry spells. Success came from catching a few major trends that covered all setbacks. I learned to wait patiently, add to winners, and never bet it all. The rules didn't change; only the numbers did.

This isn't a get-rich story. It's about how to survive. If you're struggling, know this: victory lies not in a perfect strategy, but in a system that lets you outlast your own mind.The rest is for time.
